Simon Johnson - owner

 

Simon has been in the butchery trade since leaving school. Simons of Spilsby is situated in the premises where Simon started as a Saturday lad delivering customers’ orders on a bicycle some 36 years ago! After spending time as a shop manager and then successfully completing courses on the Continent, Simons of Spilsby was established in 1993 and quickly become renowned throughout the county for its quality meats, innovative and varied products and a caring personal service.

Amanda Bryant

Amanda has been with Simons of Spilsby for several years now and she has a wealth of retail experience having previously worked for Marks & Spencer’s. Amanda assists in the smooth running of the shop and when time permits helps out in the kitchen.

Carol Crawford

Carol has been with us a few years now, she is a qualified chef and has worked all over the world including France and Ireland. Carol is responsible for the smooth running of our kitchen unit, she makes the pies, ready meals and puddings.

Gordon Shucksmith

Gordon has been in the butchery
trade almost all his life and, like Simon, Gordon started his working life at this
very shop way back in the 1960's as Saturday lad also delivering customers’
orders on a bicycle which was before Simon's time of course! Gordon is chief sausage maker too!! As he often says “these hands never stop”
and watching him make
and hand-link the sausage
how right he is.

Sheena Thorpe

Sheena joined our team in 2010 after having spent many years in the butchery and bakery trade in local businesses. Sheena is responsible for our cooked meat and pie operation so she has early morning starts! The first job she does is to get the ovens on and get the products in cooking thereby making sure our delicious pies and sausage rolls are on the shelves in the shop ready for opening time.
